Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Dr. Brett Guist graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree in 2009. During his time at the University of Calgary he was fortunate to spend time training with the Dino’s, their University football team and participate in research at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. Brett continued his education by pursuing a Master of Science degree in Sports Science and Rehabilitation. His placements during this time involved working with several amateur and professional sports, including bobsled, skeleton, hockey, and football. He then enrolled at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), graduating with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2015. Throughout his formal education, Brett has been involved in research projects and has been published in several peer-reviewed journals. He continues to be involved in academia by lecturing at CMCC in orthopaedics, diagnosis, chiropractic technique, and rehabilitation.

Brett has extensive experience working with people who have a variety of musculoskeletal related concerns. He is a strong advocate for patient-centered, evidence-informed practice, which helps him to deliver the highest quality care. He uses motion palpation, movement screening, and other orthopaedic and diagnostic tests to perform a comprehensive assessment. Following this assessment, Dr. Brett uses a multimodal treatment approach incorporating techniques such as chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy, gentle joint mobilizations, acupuncture, pain and healing modalities (IFC, TENS, LASER, shockwave), ergonomic advice, orthotics, taping and bracing, and personalized exercise prescription.

Brett and his wife Julia are active on weekends, with their dog Brady. Brett tries to embody the #exerciseismedicine lifestyle by spending time in the gym, walking the dog, and training for his first 10km race.
