RETRAINING SOFT OPENING

Training the facial and jaw muscles to open softly. Some muscle become hyper active and need to be shut off to ensure proper mechanics can resume.

Stick your tongue out as you open your mouth, keeping your cheeks soft and relaxed.

​

Perform exercise for 20 repetitions, 3x daily.

​

There should be minimal to no pain or click during these exercises. If clicking or pain persists, pause until you can speak with your treating therapist.
